For the Love of Home and Country

I entered this world just in time for Independence Day.  I grew up surrounded by patriotic military families that enjoyed our country in another time... another generation.  I also grew up with a strong mother who showed me that you can do anything you put your mind to.  Sometimes, those two worlds clash.

I see a new generation, coming up, that is more dependent on others than ever before.  Life skills, relationship skills, work ethic and patriotism all seem to be lacking.  I see my own children hiding from those who intimidate them.  It is so easy to live our lives in a small, electronic box.  We build those walls and know that how we decorate those walls can't be touched or criticized, if we want it to be that way.

This blog is about thinking outside the box; The electronic box, the literal box, and the figurative box.  I want to share my love of sewing, cooking, homemaking, mental and emotional care, child rearing, and organization.  I want this blog to be about educating and raising up powerful people, that make the fabric of our country.  I want us to all be empowered; Men, women, children, teachers, entrepreneurs, professionals, and homemakers.  For me, it is for the love of home and my country.
